Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years of Civil Engineering or Land Development experience (additional YOE can be used in lieu of a degree). Experience managing land development projects through the entitlement and permitting process. Strong understanding of:
Water and sewer design, storm drain design, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, site grading and drainage. Civil 3D proficiency with the ability to troubleshoot and guide others through design workflows. Experience reviewing and coordinating engineering plan sets. Ability to mentor junior engineers and designers. Strong client-facing communication and project coordination skills. Experience working with Maryland municipalities and regulatory agencies.
Nice to Have
Skills & Experience:
Professional Engineer (PE) license. Leadership experience managing small project teams.
Job Description:
Manage land development projects from feasibility and concept planning through entitlement, permitting, and construction. Coordinate with clients, municipalities, utility providers, and internal engineering teams. Oversee design efforts related to:
Water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, storm drain systems, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, site grading and drainage. Guide junior engineers and designers through technical design challenges and Civil 3D workflows. Review plans, calculations, and construction documents for quality and accuracy. Respond to agency review comments and coordinate permit approvals. Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Support construction administration and assist with transitioning projects into construction.
Mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership within the team.
