ESSENTIAL TASKS
- Prepares internal correspondence for Council Action and Ordinances.
- Manages Homeowner’s Association Community Clean Sweeps.
- Organizes and conducts Annual Beautification Conference for community leaders and citizens.
- Interviews and recommends hires, promotions and discharge of employees.
- Directs Litter Control Program using 30 or more offender-employees.
- Liaison with the State Litter Coordinator, State Health Department, State Highway Division, State Division of Corrections, and Sheriff’s Department, Magistrate Courts, Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and the public.
- Coordinates and supervises Employment Monitoring Program through the Magistrate Court System court orders for violators to complete community services in lieu of a jail sentence.
- Liaison to local Keep America Beautiful (KAB) affiliate.
- Reports attendance and performance on inmates and offender-employees to court systems and outside agencies where errors could be of great liability.
- Manages and train staff on work related to setting up and programming voting machines, ground maintenance, managing County surplus and providing labor support to other County Departments.
- Manages emergencies and uncontrollable acts of inmates, community service, and offender-employees, which include contacting law enforcement agencies, emergency personnel, and transporting offender-employees to an emergency facility when required.
- Raises public awareness of County services through community meetings, conferences and training sessions.
- Develops and manages annual budget.
- Develops and enforces program policies, procedures, rules and regulations, and standards of quality and safety of employees and general public.
- Enforces rules and regulations of removing and disposing of signs on County right-of-ways.
- May attend Criminal Justice Academy to be become certified Class III Special Law Enforcement (SLE) officer to enforce litter ordinances and procedures.
- Attends training, meetings, seminars as required to enhance job knowledge and skills.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requires bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, business, management or a closely related field.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSESMust possess a valid state driver’s license.
Preferred relevant agency certification / license from the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy as a Class III Special Law Enforcement (SLE) officer.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSRequires six years of leadership experience.
Compensation Minimum: $62,509.27
