Sr. System Administrator
What will you be doing:
The Sr. System Administrator will provide system administration support for a large, complex network environment with geographically distributed, air‑gapped systems. This role involves maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting systems, ensuring operational continuity, and supporting engineering requirements in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail‑oriented, and skilled in managing multiple domains, logins, and infrastructure components.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and administer systems, applications, and processes while ensuring uptime and performance.
- Maintain and secure server/network environments including patching, cert renewals, vulnerability management, Active Directory, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues, outages, and performance problems.
- Support security management, accreditation documentation, and system hardening (DISA, High Assurance).
- Administer and sustain web‑based applications and server enclaves.
- Collaborate with users, support staff, and management on system operations and upgrades.
- 8+ years of systems administration experience supporting end users and technical staff.
- Proficient with Windows Server (2012R2/2016/2019), Active Directory, and Linux (RHEL 7/8).
- Experience with VMware, virtualization (client/server), Apache Tomcat, IIS, SQL Server, and backup/restore.
- Knowledge of automation and monitoring tools (SALT, Ansible, Splunk, Puppet, Solar Winds, Nessus).
- Familiar with PKI systems, security protocols, vulnerability assessments, and accreditation processes.
- Experience with hardware installation, configuration, reimaging, disk arrays, Power Shell/Power
CLI, and networking (switches, routers, LAN, cabling). - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and support occasional short‑term travel.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical field.
- Proficiency with SQL Server.
* Salary Range:
$175,000 – $200,000
