The Role

Vice President (VP) of Engineering, Connected Digital Products is a senior leadership role that will drive the technology strategy, development, and execution of digital and connected product initiatives for Power Tools, focusing on the DEWALT brand. The VP will oversee the Tool Connect and MSUITE solutions, standardize cloud and application infrastructure, incorporate advanced analytics, AI, and visualization, and enhance user value through automation, productivity, and safety.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the vision, strategy, and execution of digital and connected product initiatives in Power Tools.
  • Lead a global team in designing, building, managing, and maintaining a complex suite of software, IoT hardware, and digital components that deliver data to cloud services used by workflow applications for BIM, MEP prefabrication, tool asset management, construction anchor design, workforce safety, and more.
  • Lead the architecture and delivery of robust workflow solutions leveraging Autodesk Revit PC-based software, AWS & AWS IoT Core, short‑range Bluetooth and LoRa networking, and microcontroller/microprocessor gateways to ingest, transform, and expose rich data securely and scalably to PC, web, and mobile applications.
  • Collaborate with Tools & Outdoor (T&O) Product Leadership on the development and implementation of strategic plans that meet or exceed user needs and drive product performance that boosts tool, device, and anchor sales.
  • Work in a hybrid Agile format to continuously deliver new and expanded capabilities that complement our ever‑growing list of digital & connected DEWALT products.
  • Partner with QA, Performance, Machine Learning, CISO, and Customer Application teams to ensure the highest standards of quality, cybersecurity, machine learning capabilities, responsiveness, and protections.
  • Lead the creation of a comprehensive DEWALT digital product platform and suite of services that connect Stanley Black & Decker digital products to an expanding ecosystem of third‑party Construction Technology providers.
  • Design, develop, and deliver Digital Tagging and Connected Asset Gateways to collect device data for an evolving set of intelligent device capabilities.
  • Design, develop, and lifecycle manage network solutions utilizing Cellular, LPWAN, FSK, BLE, and other emerging wireless technologies that expand the reach of our connected services globally.
  • Enrich application lifecycle management best practices with continuous improvement, demonstrating progress through KPI and metrics reporting.
  • Lead 24/7 operations and support functions in partnership with the Pune Design center to ensure delivery teams can focus on high‑value workflow application customer advancements.
  • Provide powerful human energy to motivate our team and business partners, ensuring maximum colleague engagement in our work.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics or related field;
    Master’s degree preferred and digital technology certifications desirable.
  • 8+ years of demonstrated relevant experience in the following areas:
    • Co‑developing a digital product vision and detailed roadmaps with product teams for construction industry solutions (IoT, M2M, Smart Devices).
    • Delivering connected products with end‑to‑end architecture solutions in AWS IoT Core, Azure, or Google Cloud.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of data security and integrity in end‑to‑end digital connected products.
    • Collaborating with external partners, vendors, consultants, and Engineering Service Providers to manage overall delivery.
    • Partnering with Global Sourcing teams to support vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and cost management.
    • Strong global compliance mindset for secure handling of device data (GDPR, PII, evolving regulations).
  • 15+ years of relevant experience demonstrated in the following areas:
    • Leading teams and working effectively with users and colleagues in globally distributed cross‑functional organizations.
    • Strong working knowledge of the entire IoT stack (firmware, gateways, software development, WAN communication, cloud data delivery).
