In this role, you will lead the creation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise database clusters across multiple secure network architectures. You will be challenged to think outside the box to optimize system performance, integrate robust backup and recovery solutions, and build clean scripting tools to eliminate repetitive manual tasks. Work with a mix of on-premise and cloud-native environments alongside a collaborative team that genuinely values your technical mastery.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual base salary range for this role is $154,000 - $182,000 (USD), which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered may vary based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.

Required Skills

• Clearance:
  Active Fully-Cleared with Poly
• Compliance Certification:
  Active DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II baseline certification is mandatory (e.g., Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP, or CCNA-Security).
• Database Administration:
  Strong proficiency engineering, monitoring, and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server, MariaDB, and/or Oracle database engines.
• Linux & Windows Administration:
  Deep hands-on experience handling systems administration, command line troubleshooting, and infrastructure logging tools.
• Infrastructure Containerization:
  Solid deployment, configuration, and runtime management knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker environments.
• CI/CD & Automation:
  Experience building and executing automated continuous integration / continuous deployment processes.
• Performance Engineering:
  Proven expertise evaluating query performance, database tuning, database design optimization, and managing full-lifecycle enterprise backups.

Education & Experience

• Experience:
  
  Minimum of ten (10) years of professional software, systems, or database engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Substitution:
  Four (4) years of additional database or software engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree (totaling 14 years of experience).

Desired Skills

• Hands-on engineering depth with cloud-native architectures, specifically AWS Cloud technologies and Amazon RDS.
• Scripting capability using Power Shell or Python to automate administrative data flows.
• Exposure to enterprise backup ecosystems like Commvault and event pipeline automation tools like Apache NiFi.
• Experience with Windows Event Log Filtering, Task Scheduler engineering, and visualization dashboards like Grafana or Kibana.
• Background hardening COTS application configurations and building/supporting Virtual Machines (VMs).
