Examples of DutiesUnder general supervision, provides agency management and technical support to the Department of Aging Computer Operations Department.
- Become a subject matter expert on My Senior Center software and become familiar with the operations of Senior Centers and Nutrition Sites.
- Serve as a tier 1 technical support for the Department of Aging's My Senior Center Software, requiring foundational knowledge of application troubleshooting and relevant certifications.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues with staff, OIT, and vendors.
- Communicate with vendors and the Office of Information Technology regarding bugs/issues, custom reports, and patches/updates.
- Update and troubleshoot kiosk issues within senior centers.
- Investigate and resolve issues with Nutrition Site Scanners.
- Develop and conduct one-on-one and group training for staff for the My Senior Center Software.
- Assist with Data transfer between the Department of Aging's applications.
- Generate custom and standard reports for staff, state, and county.
- Represent the Computer Operations department at meetings.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date standard operations procedure documentation for the Department of Aging's applications.
- Responsible for resolving missing data within the Department of Aging's applications utilizing reporting and outreach.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsPossession of a high school diploma or an appropriate high school equivalency;
Plus Three years of computer system experience. (Additional education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related field. Experience in managing computer applications is highly desired. (Years of experience will be considered as a valid substitution for the preferred education.)
- Experience with My Senior Center is an asset, but not required
- High-level knowledge of efficient utilization of computer systems and associated hardware and software components

Some positions within this classification may require possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a Non-Commercial, Class C Maryland Driver's License at the time of appointment. Applicants are required to submit proof of professional license(s), certification(s), and education beyond high school to meet the required and preferred qualifications of the position. Diplomas or transcripts must show the applicant's major field of study.
