Distribution Optimization Director – Hybrid

The Distribution Center Optimization Director is responsible for leading the strategic improvement of distribution center operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. This role blends operational leadership with data‑driven optimization across the DC network to ensure the center meets or exceeds performance targets while maintaining compliance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with logistics, planning, and DC operations teams to develop and implement high‑level, long‑term logistical strategies.
- Elevate the deployment function from a tactical execution unit into a strategic, data‑driven decision‑making hub.
- Broaden operational scope beyond traditional DC‑to‑DC transfers to oversee comprehensive, end‑to‑end site optimization.
- Aggregate complex supply planning data to formulate and execute high‑level strategies.
- Bridge communication gaps between corporate supply planning communities and localized on‑site operations teams.
- Synchronize site‑level capabilities with total inbound volumes to maximize daily warehouse receiving efficiency.
- Monitor all inbound supply sources, identify, predict, and mitigate potential facility bottlenecks.
- Govern Stock Transport Orders (STOs) strategically to dynamically meter controllable freight against volatile container and manufacturing influxes.
- Establish realistic throughput thresholds by auditing localized constraints and aligning them with corporate push schedules.
- Work with supply sources, DCs, and customer‑facing teams to optimize freight by balancing ship‑direct vs. ship‑through DC.
- 7–10+ years in supply chain, logistics, or IBP/SIOP with experience managing complex, large‑scale distribution operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross‑functional teams and influence technical direction.
- Strong knowledge of IBP process and warehouse operations. APICS certification preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience with data‑driven decision making and performance metrics.
