Join our team as an Assistant Manager and unlock opportunities for personal and professional growth. The Assistant Manager will be the face of our bank, delivering world-class service and building lasting relationships with customers. The role includes team management and developing strategies to drive consumer sales goals, especially in the absence of the Branch Manager, who focuses on business development and external engagements.

The leader will also manage the branchrom daily operations and team performance to sales goals. Responsibilities include supervising daily sales, operations and administrative activities within corporate policies to ensure quality service, satisfied and challenged employees, and an efficient, profitable branch.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of new business for Firstrust. Identify customer/prospect needs to suggest appropriate services. Actively sell and promote bank products to potential and existing business and consumer customers. Possess knowledge of corporate products and services to suggest products.
  • Champion retail sales, service and Firstrust strategic initiatives including customer relations strategies. Assist Branch Manager with business development.
  • Monitor and lead branch team performance as it relates to goals on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Lead the team by example and develop tactics to ensure the branch meets its sales growth and operational goals by providing guidance, direction, and on-the-spot coaching.
  • Attend Quarterly Job Family Meetings in Corporate Headquarters.
  • Demonstrate teamwork by maintaining effective communication with other departments and internal partners to achieve Community Banking objectives and goals.
  • Provide feedback to the Community Banking Manager for annual performance reviews and lead ongoing performance management for each branch staff member.
  • Set a positive example in leading the branch team.
  • Ensure compliance with all Bank and branch policies, Audit and Security procedures, and federal regulatory guidelines.
  • Enforce bank regulations and oversee bank security measures.
  • Monitor branch financial activities, perform audits, reports, authority limits, and manage cash levels.
  • Communicate policy and procedure changes to staff, including weekly Community Banking Operations Newsletter.
  • Use technology and Salesforce to manage branch leads and opportunities.
  • Ensure all branch operations, compliance and administrative functions are completed ahead of deadlines.
  • Partner with all areas of the Bank to provide seamless service to customers.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve overall team performance.

Physical and Sensory Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May be required to drive to client locations, events, training, and job family meetings.
  • Move and position objects/materials to set up branch events.
  • Ability to function in a financial institution/branch environment and utilize standard office equipment.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs. of materials for branches and events.

Education, Training and Experience
  • High School diploma required; college degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Two to three years of management experience preferred; banking experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Bank audit policies, branch operations and procedures.
  • Proficient in using banking software and technology; extensive PC literacy.
  • Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM system preferred.
  • Ability to navigate multiple software applications.
  • NMLS required. Notary a plus.
  • Team player and leader who can drive a branch team to exceed goals in sales and service with a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of bank products such as mortgages, auto loans, home equity.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport and trust with customers.
  • Excellent judgment, decision and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, use tact and diplomacy.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
