CNC Machinist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to setup and operate CNC mills and lathes. Qualified candidates should have the following experience:

• Operate CNC mills and lathes.

• Set up machines by mounting and aligning work pieces, fixtures, and tooling.

• Program edit CNC software packages.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

• Machine parts to ±0.005" thickness and ±0.010" end-of-part.

• Monitor machine operations.

• Inspect completed work using measurement tools.

• Perform routine operator-level preventive maintenance on CNC machines.

• 2+ years of experience working with CNC machines.

• Experience working with 3 and 5 axis machines.

• Exposure to close tolerance work, typically on the order of a few thousandths of an inch.

• Use of calipers or micrometers.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

• English reading, writing and verbal communication skills sufficient to read, write, and understand and communicate the company's operating procedures and policies.

Work in a large, clean machine shop located in Harford County. Our facility includes various departments such as machining, assembly, fabrication, and engineering. The working hours for this position are from 10 PM to 6:30 AM, Sunday through Thursday.

This is a Permanent position based out of Joppa, MD.

The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $66560.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
