Hospice Nurse Weekender - PRN

Job Overview

The Hospice RN Weekender identifies patient/family care needs and provides nursing and supportive care for terminally ill patients and their families. This role works two 12‑hour weekend shifts and is eligible for full‑time benefits.

• Education:
  
  Diploma, ADN and/or BSN from an accredited institution.
• Experience:
  
  Two years of nursing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Licensures,
  
  Certifications:
  
  Current MD nursing license.
• Skills:
  
  Knowledgeable of universal precautions for infection control; strong time management; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to be patient and family focused; skill with an EMR (Electronic Medical Record) and/or ability to learn.

• Provide quality nursing care to patients with life‑limiting illness, maintaining the highest level of care in conjunction with the primary physician.
• Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient‑directed care plans.
• Consult with the attending physician when necessary.
• Evaluate patient/family response to interventions and modify care plans appropriately.
• Provide patient and family education to achieve skills necessary for quality care, promote independence, and facilitate living fully until death.
• Teach patient/family infection control protocols.
• Document accurately and timely on charts and forms to provide a written record of the inpatient course.
• Participate in the Quality Improvement Program to maintain or improve the quality of patient care.
• Provide direction and supervision to Patient Care Partners, Unit Receptionists, and volunteers to maintain the environment.
• Accurately complete daily acuity assessments for assigned patients.
• Attend to patients and families at the time of patient’s death.

Pay Range: $66,942.34 - $. Final salary offer will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, education, experience, and alignment with our organizational needs.
