Hourly Range: $38.44 to $63.37 USD
Job Type: Full‑Time, Nursing
DescriptionAs a Hospital Operations Supervisor you will:
- Oversee or share oversight of hospital‑wide nursing services during evening, night or weekend shifts.
- Review shift reports from preceding shifts to be apprised of activity and issues; make rounds or collaboratively manage rounds coverage to assure the quality of nursing services on all units.
- Monitor high‑risk and complicated cases and institute appropriate actions when in‑the‑moment decisions are needed.
- Reassign and reallocate nursing resources to meet building needs.
- Provide significant input into the performance appraisal and competency assessment of nursing staff.
- Provide effective communication with the CNO, Unit Managers/Directors, Senior Nursing Directors, and the staffing office.
- Participate in the development of nursing policies, procedures, standards of practice, and the planning and evaluation of nursing operations.
- Graduated from an accredited nursing program and possess a current RN license in the State of Maryland.
- At least 3 years of psychiatric nursing experience, with at least two years in an inpatient environment; BSN preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric nursing, strong clinical and leadership skills, knowledge of the specialized needs of varying patient populations, demonstrated ability to build collaborative work relationships, proven ability to make effective clinical decisions in the moment, general knowledge of TJC and regulatory requirements, computer skills including familiarity with EMR, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, scheduling system, and electronic medication dispensing.
- Interpersonal skills to provide effective leadership and coordination of nursing staff on assigned shift and to interact respectfully with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Problem‑solving skills to manage resources, respond quickly to emergencies, and plan, monitor, and evaluate nursing services.
- Ability to quickly identify issues, intervene and elevate as necessary.
- Capacity to adapt to multiple demands for time and energy, handling high stress and mental fatigue.
- 30‑minute break included.
- Start times are fixed; end times may vary depending on end‑of‑shift acuity.
- Options for 12‑hour shifts may be available. Please discuss preferences during the interview process.

The pay range for this position is $38.35/hr minimum to $63.37/hr maximum. Pay is determined by years and level of related experience.
