Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Behavioral Health. The Young Adult Unit serves patients ages 18 to 30 who suffer from psychiatric disorders. The nurse will communicate therapeutically and respectfully with patients at their level of understanding. Clinical expertise is required in the provision of direct patient care, consultative activities, staff development, and treatment planning. The role includes assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with team treatment plans.
Medical treatment as prescribed by physicians must be administered as required. The nurse will also provide education and psychosocial support to patients and their families. Day-to-day clinical direction will be provided to assigned Mental Health Workers or other paraprofessional staff. Documentation and reporting of patient progress to the treatment team is essential. Candidates must have a current Registered Nurse license at the time of appointment.
All new clinical staff will begin their extended clinical orientation/training immediately following the first day of employment. Drug screening must be passed on the first try to continue with onboarding. All candidates are expected to float to any required patient age population. Floating between units according to scheduling needs will be necessary.
