General
Summary:
- Nurse educators are responsible for designing, evaluating, updating, and implementing new and current nursing education curriculum. These educational professionals act as both advisers and role models for the staff, assisting them in their journeys toward becoming amazing clinicians, delivering evidence-based care, and achieving optimal patient outcomes.
- Design, implement, continuously improve, and adapt curriculum and training, lesson plans, and professional development programs depending on educational needs and abilities.
- Teach courses and provide training to licensed and unlicensed clinical team members in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinates in-service training and workshops for appropriate staff.
- Incorporate evidence-based research into educational plans, clinical policies, development programs, and nursing practices.
- Provide educational leadership to care providers to enhance patient care.
- Initiate skills development programs within the parameters of established care models; monitor trends and implement educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory parameters.
- Serve as a mentor to nurses and staff and identify growth opportunities and educational needs for practicing clinicians.
- Promote critical thinking among staff and show commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
Requires:
- Master’s degree in Education or Nursing.
- MSN with education focus is preferred.
- 2 years of experience working as a registered nurse in a clinical setting, 1 year must be in a psychiatric setting.
- Must possess current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland at the time of appointment and continuously while in position.
- Will be required to obtain and maintain certification in CPR and CPI; must complete training to be a super-user of Sunrise EMR.

The pay range for this position is $79,975.79 minimum to $ maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
