Responsibilities and Duties
- Carry out independent research that contributes to the aims of the PI’s NIH grant (participate in experimental design, carry out experiments, analyze and interpret data, document experimental findings).
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate student researchers.
- Contribute to manuscript and proposal writing.
- Manage lab equipment, supplies and ensure compliance with safety protocols in the laboratory.
- Participate in lab meetings, seminars and professional training opportunities.
- Present research results at local and national meetings.
- A Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, or a related field, and three years of experience.
- Expertise in common cell and molecular biology experimental methodology.
- Experience working with undergraduate or graduate students.
- Expertise in Microbiology and/or Immunology.
- Candidates are desired who are enthusiastic about mentoring students with a broad range of perspectives and experiences.
