The Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Program (SLP) is a high-profile rotational program designed to accelerate the development of future leaders in Sales, Channel and Brand Management. The Commercial Sales SLPs work in three rotations across Retail, Commercial & Industrial End User, and Sales Support at different locations in the United States.
The Job:
As part of the SLP, you will be part of the Commercial Sales team and participate in three rotations with opportunities to support the sales functions described below.
- Retail – Work onsite within retail stores to drive End User Sales and Engagement. Manage store presentations to onsite Key Decision Makers, train and educate store associates, drive End User Sales, and perform daily Job Site Visits to enhance End User Engagement.
- Commercial & Industrial – Engage with professional end users. Learn End User Development processes (contacts such as trade associations, safety personnel, engineers, quality managers, general managers, line supervisors, chief mechanics, purchasing, etc.), and align efforts with local market teams, product managers, local distributors, and service centers.
- Sales Support – Provide operational and analytical support to Tools & Outdoor sales teams by collaborating with product, brand, channel, operations, and finance. Track and resolve issues related to pricing, product quality, shipments, and merchandising; analyze promotions and program effectiveness; recommend improvements; manage competitive retail comparisons; coordinate with marketing and field teams to execute merchandising initiatives; manage promotional funds; plan advertising materials;
develop training resources; oversee sales technology platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Showpad, Power BI); maintain demo tool and inventory systems. This role supports strategic initiatives to maximize sales and profitability.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Communications, Psychology, Business or related majors.
- Recent graduates or early-career professionals with less than 2 years of professional experience (including internship/co-op experience).
- Ability to analyze Power BI and Salesforce data to develop strategic growth plans and improve financial performance.
- Goal-oriented and driven to deliver results that grow and improve quarterly and annual sales within a specific region or market.
- Ability to apply strong product and market knowledge to drive sales.
- Flexible and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding measurable performance goals.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication to partner with stakeholders.
- Demonstrates promotional and event success using creativity and problem solving.
- Understanding of IT business systems (BW, , Tool Commerce) and Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to relocate anywhere within the US for 3 role rotations, travel, and occasional weekends (8–10 per year).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record screening.
- Ability to pass all drug and criminal background checks.
- Authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship.
- Capable of handling, training on, and demonstrating our products, including lifting up to 50 lbs; some physical labor such as climbing ladders and being on feet for several hours.

The base pay range for this position is $51,700.00 - $72,400.00 per year. Pay is based on location and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Applicants should apply via Stanley Black & Decker’s careers site.
