HVAC Technician

Installs, inspects, operates, and maintains HVAC, and repairs refrigeration, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and a variety of other mechanical and plumbing equipment and fixtures. Operates, repairs, and programs computerized HVAC system. Responsible for job site and equipment care.

Full‑Time, On‑site. Pay range: $22.50/hr minimum to $33.96/hr maximum.

• 2 years’ progressively more responsible related experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC and related equipment
• 1 to 4 years of technical training in an apprenticeship, vocational, or community college program following completion of high school
• Knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning, mechanical, electrical and electronic theory, gas‑fired and steam boilers, control wiring, pneumatic controls, safety codes, HVAC BAS systems, ability to read blueprints and schematics, calculate heat and air conditioning loads, pipe sizes and pressures, and interpret chemical test results
• Must possess CFC (Chlorofluorocarbons) certification within 90 days of position start and prior to working with HVAC equipment. 2 years’ experience required with MD apprenticeship card
