Schedule:
35 hours per week.

Under general supervision, provides a full range of direct professional social work services to specialized populations such as children, seniors, substance abusers, and physically or mentally ill individuals.
EssentialJob Duties
- Investigates, evaluates, and monitors individual cases.
- Assists in rendering diagnosis and developing individual treatment/service plans designed to prevent or alleviate personal or environmental problems of clients in a social services, health, or mental health program.
- Determines suitability of individuals for special programs.
- Provides crisis intervention and individual or group counseling to clients and their families.
- Develops and/or participates in public awareness and education programs.
- Consults with other health or social work professionals concerning issues affecting recovery, welfare, and rehabilitation of clients.
- Acts as a liaison between health, education, welfare, and other community agencies to establish an integrated and coordinated program.
- Performs case management, prepares case histories, court documents and other reports, memos, and correspondence.
- Maintains accurate records of client activities.
- Participates in meetings.
Makes home visits and provides transportation for patients/clients. Assists sick or injured senior adults until medical personnel arrive at the scene. Attends training and seminars. Performs other related duties as required.

Required QualificationsPossession of a master's degree in social work from a college or university approved by the Council of Social Work Education;
Two years' experience rendering professional social work services.
Education beyond a master's degree from an accredited college or university in the field of social work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of one year for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications- At least two years' experience providing counseling services
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and theories of social work and human behavior.
- Knowledge of the diagnosis, treatment, and management of social, emotional, and mental dysfunctions.
- Knowledge of current social, economic, and health problems.
- Knowledge of individual, family, and group therapy dynamics and techniques. Knowledge of social work programs, and program evaluation methods.
- Knowledge of alternate and additional resources for clients/patients.
- Skill in applying social work theories and principles to individuals in a social work program.
- Skill in the development of effective treatment or service programs for individuals and their families and in providing crisis intervention.
- Skill in leading goal-oriented and long term individual, family, and group counseling or therapy sessions.
- Skill in interpreting and applying Federal, State, and local guidelines, regulations, and procedures.
- Skill in preparing accurate and complete, forms, case histories, and reports.
- Skill in establishing rapport with clients/patients.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with all contacts.
- Ability to assist in the evaluation of programs and services.
- Ability to instruct and to set standards for assigned program and services.
