Schedule:
35 hours per week.

Examples of DutiesJob Purpose
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, provides a full range of direct professional social work services to participants of the Fatherhood Program within the Community Based Services Division.
Essential Job Duties Develops and implements curricula for programs and provides continual CQI assessment of the program. Consults and coordinates program partners and service providers; participates in meetings; coordinates scheduling services and acts as a liaison with service providers.
Interviews clients: identifies, assesses, and evaluates strengths and needs, if families are functioning, and if they are receptive to services. Compiles and composes treatment plans and evaluative reports; makes referrals and linkages as appropriate.
Provides group services, facilitation psycho-educational, therapeutic and informational crisis intervention and short-term counseling as appropriate.
Provides data entry and data management functions which include completing monthly reports and maintaining case records while meeting COA and Agency standards and requirements.
Assists with Agency Emergency mass care and shelter as needed.
Examples of Other Duties
Represents the County, Department of Social Services, and its programs in meetings and conferences. Provides information, education and assistance to community groups and organizations.
Recruits participants for the programs and monitors attendance and outcomes of the programming.
Performs other related duties as required.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications Possession of a master's degree in social work from a college or university approved by the Council of Social Work Education;
Plus Two years' experience rendering professional social work services. Education beyond a master's degree from an accredited college or university in the field of social work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of one year for the required experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and theories of social work and human behavior.
- Knowledge of the diagnosis, treatment, and management of social, emotional, and mental dysfunctions.
- Knowledge of current social, economic, and health problems.
- Knowledge of individual, family, and group therapy dynamics and techniques. Knowledge of social work programs, and program evaluation methods.
- Knowledge of alternate and additional resources for clients/patients.
- Skill in applying social work theories and principles to individuals in a social work program.
- Skill in the development of effective treatment or service programs for individuals and their families and in providing crisis intervention.
- Skill in leading goal-oriented and long term individual, family, and group counseling or therapy sessions.
