Abilities Network is looking for a Family Navigator to join our Healthy Families team! Healthy Families is a national program that works with new parents to develop supporting, enriching parenting practices that help their children and families grow to realize their fullest potential.

The Family Navigator serves as the primary point of contact for families referred to Healthy Families Baltimore County and plays a key role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment starting with a family's first interaction with the program. This position helps ensure that every referred family receives a timely response, meaningful engagement, and information about services that support their strengths and needs.

The Family Navigator also serves as a resource to program staff by maintaining current knowledge of community resources and helping strengthen connections between families, services, and community supports.

The starting rate of pay for this position is $18.00 per hour and is non‑negotiable. The schedule for this position generally falls into the program hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, with additional evening and weekend availability occasionally needed to support outreach activities and events.

What will I do at Abilities Network?
  • Review incoming referrals and initiate timely, welcoming, family-centered communication with referred families in accordance with program policies
  • Provide information about Healthy Families services, answer questions about the program, and respond to self-referrals and inquiries from families, healthcare providers, community partners, and other referral sources.
  • Determine family eligibility and interest in services and coordinate the enrollment process by scheduling enrollment activities and facilitating a smooth transition to a Family Support Specialist when appropriate.
  • Coordinate family networking events and other family engagement activities by assisting with planning, communications, registrations, materials, vendors, and event logistics in collaboration with program leadership.
What does Abilities Network need from me?
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education is a plus.
  • Experience in working with or providing services to children and families.
  • Experience and humility to work with culturally diverse families.
  • Knowledge of community resources and human service systems preferred.
  • Infant Mental Health Endorsement preferred.
  • Transportation necessary to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position
  • Ability to establish trusting relationships with families, staff, and community partners.
  • Acceptance of individual differences and commitment to serving families with cultural humility, respect, and empathy.
