Job Title
Supervisor for Winning Father's Program and Rapid Re-Housing Program
Job DescriptionUnder the supervision of the Assistant Director, supervises staff within the Winning Father's Program and the Rapid Re-Housing Program within the Community Based Services Division.
Examples Of DutiesExamples of duties include:
- Providing supervision for unit staff: hire and train new workers, assess professional development, monitor attendance and leave, complete evaluations, and ensure work standards are being met.
- Addressing and handling difficult or unusual cases and client grievances.
- Overseeing and evaluating program, assigning workload responsibilities, assuring casework standards are being upheld. Assure the completion of client assessments, case plans, and case notes.
- Coordinating service delivery and managing data tracking systems, attending meetings regarding programs, developing policies and completing record reviews.
- Working with DSS Assistant Director and HHS Finance Department regarding grant program: management application, award letters, fiscal monitoring and grant data and fiscal reporting.
- Participating on Boards and committees as requested, completing special projects as assigned, providing community education regarding DSS and division programs.
- Assisting with Agency Emergency mass care and shelter as needed.
Required qualifications include:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science plus at least four years' experience providing human services, such as intake/referral, counseling or educating, which includes one year in a supervisory capacity.
- Thorough knowledge of the theory and practices of provision of human services in the appropriate specialty of food security and/or social determinants of health, including knowledge of group dynamics, convening and managing interagency groups and ability to collect, organize and analyze data into reportable outcomes.
- Knowledge of budget and personnel management principles and practices. Knowledge of the Open Meetings Act.
- Writing skill necessary to draft grant proposals, complex reports, and legislation.
- Good interpersonal skills. Skill in conducting individual diagnostic/assessment interviews and formulating treatment plans.
- Skill in implementing program policies and procedures.
- Skill in planning, coordinating, supervising, and reviewing the work of others.
- Skill in interpreting rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Skill in preparing and monitoring a program budget.
- Ability to identify community needs and to design and implement initiatives to meet these needs.
- Ability to monitor program service delivery and to evaluate and modify same.
- Ability to develop and modify program policies and procedures.
- Ability to coordinate a program's activities with other agencies and programs.
- Ability to locate and develop community resources.
- Ability to plan and conduct educational programs for staff or other groups.
- Ability to conduct community engagement and outreach education.
- Ability to read and understand professional journals and other publications.
