Location:
This position is hybrid, based in Lanham, Maryland. Candidates must be local to Lanham, MD or willing to relocate.
Role:
Delmock Technologies Inc. is seeking a Back‑End Developer to help transform our federal client’s organization and accelerate mission execution through emerging and disruptive technologies, innovative business models, retooled program operations and industry‑driven solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and consume web‑based, RESTful APIs utilizing Java and Spring.
- Work within Kubernetes (Open Shift, AWS EKS or others), Service Mesh (ISTIO or others), Microservices architecture.
- Ensure Swagger and OpenAPI documentation is created for RESTful services.
- Ensure Java Docs are completed.
- Perform database system development with working knowledge of Relational Databases (Oracle, Postgres or other) and No
SQL Databases (ex: Mongo
DB, Dynamo
DB, etc). - Handle large data sets and scale their handling and storage.
- Design, build, and implement software applications, remediate defects, support activities to set up/validate infrastructure environments in support of the Application team.
- Author developer‑friendly documentation (e.g., API documentation, deployment operations).
- Communicate technical concepts to a non‑technical audience.
- Conduct alternative analysis on software approved within the application boundary.
- Create and maintain code comments, Wikis, and other development artifacts in support of the application team.
- Create and/or provide input for design artifacts for inclusion in design documents.
- Follow Test‑Driven Development (TDD) paradigm by creating and maintaining unit tests.
- Ensure design conforms to technical solution of the platform and program.
- Operate in a Dev Ops environment comprised of Maven, Jenkins, Sonar Qube, NPM.
- Quickly research and learn new programming tools and techniques.
- Assist automation test team with development of automation regression tests, as needed.
- Assist performance team with development of stubs and simulators, as needed.
- Remediate defects and provide Tier 3 level support.
- Support packaging of software as required.
- Use version control systems, specifically Git and Git Hub.
- Use and work with open‑source solutions and community.
- Coach, train, and mentor other developers, both IRS and contractor, in all aspects of software development, as needed.
- Encourage and support collaborative work amongst all team members, both IRS employees and contractor employees.
- Ensure IRS developers and/or tech advisors are engaged with all software development tasks regularly.
- Produce clear, concise, centralized, organized, and easily accessible documentation for current and future reference utilizing existing IRS tools, for example One Note and README files. This includes system architecture diagrams, flow diagrams, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, Swagger docs, Java Docs and other diagrams as appropriate, structured in a systems‑level, holistic documentation suite.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience with the following:
- Java Development: JDK 1.8 and 11, MDC, HTTP Filters, Loggers, Concurrency, Security, JPA, JUnit, etc.
- Spring Projects: MVC, Boot, Web Flux, Cloud, Test, Security, Cache, JPA, etc.
- Persistence:
Relational Databases (Ex: Oracle, Postgre
SQL), No
SQL Databases (ex: Mongo
DB, Dynamo
DB, etc) - Dev Ops:
Maven, Jenkins, Sonar Qube, Nexus, Git - Experience with scalable search technology (e.g., Elastic Search, Solr).
- Working knowledge of Business Objects Enterprise (BOE) and Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP).
- Experience working with Agile methodologies.
Preferred:
- Swagger and OpenAPI
- Splunk
- Excel, Power Point
Clearance:
- Active IRS MBI (Minimum Background Investigation) Clearance.
