Park Manager - Miami and Rocky Point Summer Seasonal

Position Overview

The Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks is accepting applications for Beach and Parks Managers – Miami Beach and Rocky Point Beach Summer Seasonal Employment. The position requires a 40‑hour per week schedule for the summer season.

Miami Beach – 4001 Bay Drive, Middle River, Maryland 21220.

Rocky Point Beach – 2200 Rocky Point Road, Essex, Maryland 21221.

Must have reliable transportation; facilities are not located on public transportation lines.

Responsible for the operation and supervision of an assigned beach, park, or other facility.

Under general supervision, will manage the operation and supervision of the Miami Beach and Rocky Point Beach facilities.

• Supervise, schedule, and train Assistant Beach Managers, lifeguards, and cashiers.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for the proper functioning of the facility.
• Monitor cashiers and verify daily transactions, reports, and deposits.
• Make bank deposits.
• Supervise rentals of watersports equipment.
• Supervise and lead programs.
• Deal with customers as situations arise.
• Safeguard swimmers and non‑swimmers using beach and park facilities.
• Enforce swimming and facility rules and regulations to the public.
• Keep facilities clean and free from hazards.
• Alert patrons to changing weather and water conditions.
• Perform routine tasks as assigned. (Such as cleaning bathrooms, removing trash from barrels, cleaning grills and grounds, and minor maintenance.)
• Lead programs for the public and various groups.

Performs other related duties as required.

• Must be at least 18 years of age by May 1, 2026.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays throughout the summer and have days off on weekdays.
• Must have reliable transportation; facilities are not located on public transportation lines.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check, physical, and drug test.

Three (3) years of lifeguarding experience preferred.

Applicants having the ability to work the entire season, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, will be considered first.

• Current Lifeguard Certification by May 1, 2026.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED by May 1, 2026.
• Current Waterfront Skills Certification by May 1, 2026.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a physical examination, drug screening, and employment investigation, including criminal background, education certification, and fingerprinting checks.

Seasonal Non‑Merit position – not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan and not included in the Employees' Benefits Plan.
