The Utah County Public Works Department, a multi‑service Department within County government, is hiring an Equipment Operator II to support construction, maintenance, and emergency operations. The position is a full‑time, career service eligible role with benefits and a merit salary package.

Equipment Operator II – 722

Schedule:

Monday – Friday – 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Under the guidance of the Roads Supervisor, the operator will run a range of light and heavy equipment, including wood chippers, generators, dump trucks, loaders, and specialized vehicles. Perform complex and specialized duties that require independent judgment.

• Equipment Operator II:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four (4) years of general road construction work experience, including operation of light and heavy equipment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Utah Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with N and T endorsements; X endorsement may be required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in operating at least three of the following heavy equipment types: grader, loader, trackhoe, backhoe, mini excavator, skid steer, vac truck, bulldozer, chip box, asphalt box, oil distributor, asphalt roller.
• Must obtain and maintain the following certifications during the probationary period or trial period:
  Forklift Operator Certification and CPR Certification.
• Additional certifications may be required as directed.
