Position: Systems Administrator
Location & Time Zone: Hybrid (2 days in office Tracy, CA)
Preferred Region: San Francisco Bay Area
Position Type: Full-Time
Pay: Hourly
Specialization: Systems Administration & Infrastructure Support
Reporting To: IT Manager
Job Description
The Systems Administrator closes the gap between identity and access management, endpoint fleet administration, and infrastructure work. This is a full-time, hybrid role focused on keeping CTS's core systems, accounts, and devices running reliably as the company continues to scale, and giving the IT Manager a second set of hands for planned infrastructure work rather than only reactive fixes.
Key Responsibilities- Own systems-level administration of CTS's core IT infrastructure - servers, network, and identity/access - reducing single-point dependence on the IT Manager for this work.
- Administer user accounts, licensing, and access across CTS's Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments as headcount grows.
- Own identity and access hygiene: SSO/MFA enforcement, VPN access, and account lifecycle work tied to onboarding/offboarding in Rippling.
- Take ownership of the endpoint fleet (Windows and macOS) as it scales - deployment, patching, and MDM administration - freeing the Helpdesk team to focus on first-line tickets.
- Serve as the Tier 2 escalation point for issues beyond helpdesk scope, keeping resolution in-house rather than pushing to outside vendors.
- Support planned infrastructure and platform changes (migrations, new tool rollouts, integrations between Click Up, M365, and Google Workspace) as CTS's tooling evolves.
- Maintain and improve IT SOP documentation for systems-level processes, closing gaps identified during onboarding/offboarding reviews.
- Partner with the Cybersecurity Analyst on patching, hardening, and access control to support CTS's overall security posture (Huntress, Last Pass, endpoint protection).
- Bring consistency and proactive planning to systems work, rather than purely reactive problem-solving.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace environments at a growing or mid-size company (user provisioning, licensing, mailbox/group management).
- Experience with identity and access management (SSO, MFA, VPN) - tools like Okta or Entra common examples, but equivalent platforms are fine.
- Solid Tier 2+ troubleshooting background across Windows and macOS environments, ideally supporting a few hundred users or more.
- Familiarity with endpoint/MDM tooling (e.g., Jamf, Intune, Ninja One, or similar) sufficient to manage a growing device fleet.
- Comfortable owning infrastructure work independently and prioritizing across competing systems-level demands.
- Track record of clear technical documentation and consistent SLA performance.
- Experience supporting platform or OS migrations is a plus, given CTS's growth trajectory and periodic tooling changes.
- Strong communication skills - this role will work directly with non-technical staff and needs to explain systems changes clearly.
- CompTIA A+ preferred (or in progress);
Network+ or Security+ a plus, but not a substitute for hands-on enterprise experience.
- Competitive salary + performance-based bonuses
- Paid time off, paid holidays, & floating holidays
- Real mentorship and fellowship
- Employee recognition programs
- Career development and growth opportunities
- Entrepreneurship training (learn how to build a business!)
