We are seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) at RCM Fire in Tracy, CA area. This role is ideal for a construction professional with 1–5 years of experience who has hands‑on exposure to RFIs, submittals, and change order management. The APM will work closely with the Project Manager and Executive VP of Sales to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents.
Key Responsibilities Project Coordination & Administration- Assist the Project Manager with day‑to‑day project oversight from preconstruction through closeout
- Maintain project documentation including contracts, drawings, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and meeting minutes
- Track project schedules and assist with schedule updates
- Prepare, log, and track Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Coordinate RFI responses between subcontractors, design teams, and ownership
- Manage submittal process including review, tracking, and distribution
- Assist in preparing, reviewing, and tracking change order requests (CORs)
- Analyze subcontractor pricing and ensure proper documentation
- Support change order negotiations and ensure timely execution
- Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and monthly job cost reporting
- Support subcontractor buyout process
- Review subcontractor pay applications and verify work completion
- Collaborate with Superintendents to ensure field activities align with project plans
- Attend project meetings and assist in preparing meeting documentation
- Communicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and clients
- Coordinate punch list completion
- Ensure collection of warranties, as‑builts, O&M manuals, and closeout documentation
- 1–5 years of construction experience (commercial or industrial preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent field experience)
- Demonstrated experience managing RFIs and change orders
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
