Terminal Operator I
Reports to:
Terminal Manager
Shift: M-F 2:00 am – 10:00 am
Pay: $21/hr
Responsibilities- Promote and adhere to all plant safety guidelines.
- Gain full understanding of and demonstrate adherence to the safety program.
- Load trucks and/or rail cars as per the daily schedule utilizing on‑site systems.
- Unload product as per the daily schedule utilizing on‑site systems.
- Operate on‑site mobile equipment and receive training.
- Handle inquiries and orders from customers and sales personnel.
- Maintain shipping logs, prepare bills of lading, and calculate split‑load tonnages based on customer instructions.
- Use company apps for site emails, safety incident reporting, completing training, and other programs.
- Maintain supply point and 5S standards.
- Assist with basic maintenance of equipment on site.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
- High school graduation or equivalent (required).
- One to two years of experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, and signs.
- Willingness to learn; training will be provided.
- Completion of basic site safety training including First Aid and all applicable LSR Training.
- OSHA (IHSA) 10‑hour certification required.
- Good communication skills to interact with truckers, customers, and other employees.
- Ability to work well with others and individually.
- Effective problem‑solving, decision‑making, and attention to detail.
- Strong memory utilization.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Work occurs in a shop environment as well as outdoors throughout the plant. Exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, noise, and high elevations up to 250 ft is expected. All weather conditions and the normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
