Position SummaryThe Production Packaging Associate is an entry-level position responsible for proper packaging of materials and finished products, loading, moving material, operating packaging equipment, and following Good Manufacturing Practices.
Responsibilities- Demonstrates safe work practices by wearing correct PPE and following safety policies.
- Demonstrates punctuality and adheres to work schedule.
- Demonstrates a teamwork attitude by working well and effectively with others.
- Adheres to company general manufacturing policies.
- Keeps the work area neat, clean, and organized.
- Monitor conveyor belts and clear bottle jams from lines.
- Pick up dropped bottles from production floor and place into designated bins.
- Place discarded bottles into grinder, if applicable.
- Inspect the quality of bottles during production, packaging, and labeling.
- Perform bottle inspections, such as drop tests for designated lines.
- Immediately escalates all bottle abnormalities, defects, and quality issues when found.
- Monitor supply levels of packaging materials and replenish as needed.
- Ensure correct labeling, bottle description, and packaging of product in accordance with specific customer requirements.
- Move finished goods to designated area.
- Ensure efficient setup and organization of workstations, maintaining inventory levels and restocking supplies as needed to facilitate smooth transitions between shifts.
- Other duties as assigned by management (duties may differentiate by plant based on equipment and plant design).
Minimum requirements for the role.
Experience- Basic mathematical skills are required.
- Basic computer experience.
- Prefer High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Completion of Altium Production/Packaging Associate I within 90 days of hire.
Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; reach out, over, and below with hands and arms. May climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Required to lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work EnvironmentRegular exposure to moving mechanical parts, loud noise, temperature fluctuations. Personal protective equipment (PPE) required in production department.
CompensationTargeted pay rate: $20.25 per hour.
