Role Description

The Shop Fabricator is a full-time, on-site role based outside the San Francisco Bay Area in Tracy, CA, responsible for building, assembling, and finishing custom exhibits and event structures. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting fabrication drawings, measuring and cutting materials, operating shop equipment and power tools, and assembling components to meet project specifications and quality standards. The role also involves collaborating with project managers and designers, maintaining an organized and safe work area, and assisting with crating, packing, and preparing exhibits for shipment or installation.

The Shop Fabricator may support on-site installations and teardown as needed, ensuring that fabricated pieces meet client expectations and company production timelines.

Qualifications
  • Experience with fabrication techniques such as cutting, routing, drilling, and assembly of wood, metal, and composite materials.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, shop plans, and measurements.
  • Skill in using hand tools, power tools, and standard shop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on craftsmanship, fit, and finish.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production, design, and installation teams and communicate clearly.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced shop environment.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and handle materials and components as required for fabrication work.
  • Prior experience in exhibit fabrication, carpentry, scenic construction, or a related field is preferred.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company procedures and industry standards.
