Position: Director of Nursing - bonus eligible

Tracy Surgery Center, 2160 W. Grantline Road, Suite 120, Tracy, CA 95377, USA

Eligible for a $5,000 signing bonus (half at the time of hire and second half after 6 months of employment).

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Surgery Center. This includes overseeing the scheduling of procedures, inventory control, QA/QI, staff credentialing, preventative maintenance and safety, risk management, and all related supporting services of the ambulatory surgical center and its personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide leadership and oversight of all nursing and clinical operations throughout the center
  • Ensure compliance with AAAHC, CMS, OSHA, CDC, AORN, and regulatory standards
  • Oversee infection prevention, quality assurance, QAPI, and patient safety programs
  • Collaborate with physicians and leadership teams to optimize patient care and operational workflows
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, mentoring, and performance management of clinical staff
  • Create & monitor staffing schedules, productivity, and clinical competencies
  • Promote a positive culture of teamwork, accountability, communication, and professionalism
  • Assist with policy development, implementation, and ongoing regulatory readiness
  • Participate in accreditation surveys, audits, mock surveys, and continuous readiness initiatives
  • Lead clinical education initiatives and competency programs
  • Ensure accurate clinical documentation and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Respond to patient concerns and support service recovery initiatives when needed
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of leadership experience in an ambulatory surgery center, perioperative services, or surgical setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of AAAHC accreditation standards, CMS regulations, infection control, and ASC operations
  • Experience in perioperative nursing, PACU, Pre-Op, & OR services preferred
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, team-oriented surgical environment
  • Strong critical thinking and operational management abilities
