Responsibilities
- Crime and violence prevention.
- Customer service and client assistance.
- Patrolling the site on foot for the entire shift as instructed, preventing and detecting signs of intrusion and ensuring security of all entrances.
- Writing reports of daily activities and irregularities, including equipment or property damage, missing equipment, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Performing access control procedures by monitoring and regulating entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to prevent theft and maintain premises security.
- Investigating disturbances, answering alarms, and responding to on‑site emergencies by calling local law enforcement or first responders.
- Conducting pat‑downs and metal‑detecting searches.
- Communicating and enforcing applicable laws, policies, and codes.
- Interacting with colleagues, supervisors, clients, client employees, visitors, and other persons on the work site.
- All positions are unarmed security guard positions. Employees with a valid BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit and a pepper spray permit may qualify for armed work when shifts and approvals are available.
- One to two years of experience in high‑end security, military, or law enforcement.
- Valid Guard Card issued by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services.
- At least 40 hours of BSIS training courses, including the most recent annual refresher.
- A GED or High School Diploma and, preferably, an Associate’s Degree or other verifiable college education.
- For armed officers:
California Guard Card (BSIS permit), Firearms Permit, Baton, and Chemical Agent. - Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Neat, professional appearance.
- Reliable transportation.
- Track record of punctuality and integrity.
- Cell phone that receives texts, has internet access, and an associated email address.
- Proper uniform: black business suit, white button‑down dress shirt, black tie, belt, socks, dress shoes or shined boots, and a small flashlight.
- Need for on‑call unarmed Flex Officers in Tracy, CA.
- Security agents typically work 12–50 hours per week throughout the county, including mandatory weekend nights, and may be offered full‑time regular positions after evaluation.
- Unarmed pay starts at $18–$20 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and assignment.
- Experienced off‑duty officers, EPs, and estate agents receive industry standard pay.
- Paid accrued sick leave.
