Job Overview
We are searching for a highly motivated, mechanically inclined individual to join our growing Field Service team. The role involves completing planned and reactive service operations on our generators, maintaining system uptime, availability, and performance for deployed units on customer sites in a specific region. The candidate will receive training at our headquarters in Menlo Park, CA and will be assigned to a service region requiring travel.
Responsibilities
- Mechanically repair and perform maintenance on generator components and assemblies in accordance with procedures and build checklists to meet customer requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers to fix, repair, and redesign components and assemblies.
- Conduct mechanical inspections of deployed units and document condition information for use by the team for debugging or troubleshooting.
- Be available to work rotational on‑call shifts as per the written schedule to provide optimal service and support for customers.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with mechanical assembly and/or repair, preferably in automotive, aviation, HVAC, elevators/lifts, or other heavy equipment.
- Experience with precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, bore gauges, gauge blocks) and torque wrenches; ability to document repairs performed.
- Physical capability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and wear required PPE.
- Knowledge of basic tools such as torque wrenches and ability to maintain them.
- Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions while on‑site.
- Excellent communication skills; proficiency in Google Workspace is a plus.
- Track record of working well with others as part of a dynamic team.
- Self‑motivation, quick learning, and safety‑oriented mindset.
- Valid driver’s license required;
Class A commercial driver’s license preferred.
Location & Compensation
Position is onsite in Stockton, CA or Tracy, CA. Hourly rate reflects local market conditions and experience. Benefits include vacation and sick time, 401(k), pre‑IPO stock options, and a bonus program.
