XGS LEAD warehouse dockworkers are responsible for loading and unloading freight by hand or by using a pallet jack/forklift, sorting product, and ensuring that trailers are properly and accurately loaded. This position includes using a barcode scanner and helps to maintain the service center dock as neat and orderly.
Responsibilities- Support dock workers during a specified shift to ensure freight is properly loaded and unloaded for on‑time and error‑free delivery.
- Offload delivery trucks transporting merchandise into the warehouse.
- May load or unload by hand, or with freight handling tools such as lift truck, pallet jack, or side cart.
- Use scanners to read bar codes on products.
- Scan barcode on freight and ensure each freight movement to rack, floor, or loading door.
- View prompts on screens and follow directions for tasks.
- Verify shipping information from the scan unit to ensure freight is labeled for the correct destination.
- Receive and put away inventory.
- Confirm merchandise information matches that of the work order.
- Attach barcodes to freight for tracking and routing.
- Finalize the work order and update the database.
- Inspect merchandise for damage, flaws, and irregularities.
- Ensure product meets quality requirements.
- Report overage, shortages, and damages according to operating procedures.
- Sort and segregate freight by destination.
- Verify freight counts.
- Dock clean‑up as needed.
- May include other duties as assigned by Management.
- 6 months experience.
- Previous experience as a fulfillment associate.
- Knowledge of warehousing procedures is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret written work orders.
- Strong attention to detail.
- 18 years old.
- Meet minimum hiring criteria.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Experience operating lift truck, pallet jack, or side cart desired.
- Frequently lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds; pull up to 100 pounds and push up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally climb stairs.
- Frequently stoop, kneel or crouch.
Most work is conducted in a comfortable office environment but exposure to site conditions may also occur. Personal protective equipment must be worn in all areas as required. Although the work usually is not considered inherently dangerous, it must be performed carefully while on site.
