Dispatcher, Transportation

Position Summary Western Pallet Supply & Logistics is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate daily transportation operations while providing exceptional customer service. The Dispatcher serves as the communication hub between drivers, customers, production, and management and plays a critical role in ensuring deliveries and pickups are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities, communicates professionally under pressure, and consistently follows management direction.

Essential

Job Duties Schedule and dispatch drivers according to customer requests, production schedules, and operational priorities.

Communicate daily with drivers regarding routes, pickups, deliveries, delays, and schedule changes.

Coordinate closely with Operations, Production, Sales, and Customers to ensure efficient workflow.

Monitor driver progress using Motive GPS and communicate any delays or route adjustments.

Prepare driver schedules a minimum of three (3) business days in advance whenever possible.

Receive and process work orders accurately within Net Suite.

Maintain accurate dispatch logs, driver assignments, customer information, delivery records, and transportation documentation.

Assist walk-in drivers with paperwork and dispatch instructions.

Communicate equipment issues and coordinate repairs when necessary.

Monitor customer service inboxes and respond professionally and promptly.

Participate in weekly transportation meetings and contribute updates regarding scheduling, customer concerns, fleet utilization, and operational improvements.

Notify management immediately of transportation issues, customer complaints, service failures, or safety concerns.

Assist with administrative projects and reporting as assigned.

Required

Skills & Qualifications Minimum 2 years of dispatch, logistics, transportation coordination, or related experience preferred.

Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software.

Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and transportation software.

Experience with Motive GPS and Net Suite is strongly preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy.

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.

Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.
