Warehouse Worker - Sanitation Worker; Janitor - 1st Shift

Position Summary

Under warehouse supervision, a sanitation worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary warehouse and office in a manner consistent with the company's standards of quality and safety, and productivity.

5:00am - 1:30pm Sunday - Thursday (work is complete) 5/8's 5:00am - 1:30pm Tuesday - Saturday (work is complete) 5/8's

• Proficient in mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, and vacuuming surfaces
• Empties trash bins and cleans trash area daily; operates trash compactor when applicable
• Pulls pallets and cleans/scrubs product bays on a rotating basis
• Clean up any spills or breakages to the inventoried product; recoup damages and determine if resalable or must be disposed of per food safety standards and requirements
• Clean other areas of the warehouse and offices, including break rooms, restrooms, offices, etc.
• Complete daily sanitation logs
• Utilize chemicals, detergents, and cleaning equipment
• Operate scrubber and pallet jacks if required to perform duties
• Able to identify and address cleanliness and sanitation issues
• Complies with all safety requirements
• Escalate issues timely and directly to supervisor
• Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

• Previous sanitation and/or warehouse experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required
• Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi‑tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers and time management skills required
• Flexible to work overtime preferred
• Ability to work in non‑climate‑controlled conditions required
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
• Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required

• Required to remember and understand certain instructions, guidelines, or other information; must be able to see and verbally communicate. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must move frequently, stand, walk, sit, use hands to touch, handle, feel, and reach. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
