FIELD CONSTRUCTION COORDINATOR

This position provides comprehensive infrastructure services to fiber, wireline, and wireless carrier customers within the communications industry. We are seeking an Inspector that will be responsible for quality assurance supporting operations, engineering, and outside processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Perform Quality checks on all outside plant to ensure plant is up to spec.
  • Thorough understanding of aerial and underground construction methods
  • Identify unsafe actions performed by contractor, record/report to crew Supervisor
  • Generate As-Built records, by hand or digital format
  • As-Builts
    • Record units placed
    • Record deviations from engineered plans
    • Record pertinent notes as related to construction events
  • Recognize, record and report deficiencies to construction supervisor
  • Inspection of deficiencies reported to be complete
  • Subcontractor Communication
    • Communicate verbally and in writing, necessary corrective actions and provide potential resolutions to avoid similar situations in the future
  • Identify and record deficiencies
  • Assist with inspection and investigations.
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly.
  • Effectively communicate across all levels within the organization, vendors, and others as needed
  • Record daily activities in construction inspector journal
  • Review/Correct traffic control patterns, signs, flagmen
  • Other duties as assigned
KEY

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years of OSP construction inspection experience
  • Ability to follow OSHA/State/Local Safety Standards
  • Understanding of required PPE
  • The physical activity required for this role includes:
  • Occasional travel as needed for site visits and business operations
  • site visits in a range of weather conditions, including hot and cold weather
  • Walking on uneven and variable terrain
  • Sitting, standing, walking for extended periods
  • Frequently standing, walking, stooping, reaching, climbing, bending and reaching
  • Manual dexterity for computer use, and office equipment
  • Occasionally lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
