Position Summary

The Project Manager position is a hands‑on role requiring a front‑line leader to take responsibility for the company’s efforts to support customers after disaster strikes their homes and businesses. Project Managers inspect new projects, determine the planned course of action, monitor the project, and adjust actions to keep the project moving forward while maintaining required standards.

Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Collaborate with the estimator to review project bids, scopes of work, and budgets.
    • Develop comprehensive project schedules, including timelines for all phases of construction.
    • Manage project budgets, tracking all expenses and ensuring the project remains profitable.
    • Order materials and equipment in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
    • Secure all necessary permits and licenses before project commencement.
  • Subcontractor and Team Management:
    • Recruit, vet, and hire qualified subcontractors for various trades.
    • Manage all subcontractor relationships, including contract negotiation, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
    • Supervise and lead on‑site crews, ensuring they adhere to project plans and safety protocols.
    • Conduct regular meetings with subcontractors and team members to review progress and address any issues.
  • Site Management and Safety:
    • Visit all open job sites at least three days a week to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
    • Proactively identify and address potential safety hazards on job sites.
    • Enforce all company safety policies and procedures, as well as all relevant local, state, and federal safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
    • Ensure the site is clean, organized, and secure at all times.
  • Communication and Documentation:
    • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the client, providing regular updates on project status.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for any client questions, concerns, or change orders.
    • Document all project activities, decisions, and communications.
    • Note the project file at least weekly with detailed progress reports, meeting minutes, and any relevant correspondence.
    • Prepare and submit regular reports to senior management on project progress, budget, and potential risks.
  • Quality Control:
    • Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure all work meets company standards and client specifications.
    • Address and resolve any quality issues or deficiencies in a timely manner.
    • Ensure all work is completed according to the approved plans and specifications.
  • Skills/Qualifications

    Required

    • 1 year of experience in a management role or in the disaster restoration industry
    • 3 or more years construction experience
    • Organizational skills
    • Strong Problem‑solving/Decision‑making capabilities
    • Analytical thinking
    • High Emotional Intelligence
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suites, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
    • Fluent in industry standards and protocols
