Pre-school Lead Teacher
Old Mission Peninsula School is searching for a Pre-school Lead Teacher who will be responsible for the education & enrichment of preschool students.
Must demonstrate the ability to communicate and work effectively and collaboratively with professional peers and parents, adapt and plan for individual student needs and learning styles, and to evaluate, measure, and monitor various forms of assessments and data.
Reports To:
Child Development Center Director
Under the supervision of the Child Development Director, the Lead Teacher will perform supervisory and day to day functions according to the Michigan State Child Care, Licensing Regulations, and OMPS policies
Lesson planning for classroom using Creative Curriculum
Responsible for the daily planning and implementation of curriculum to meet the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs of each child
Provide a safe, fun environment for the children to play, learn, and grow
Guarantee a safe environment by providing constant supervision, appropriate arrangement of space and accurate maintenance of equipment
Continuing education including classes, conferences, workshops, and in-services to enhance the knowledge and understanding of teaching
Cleaning duties as outlined in the classroom cleaning checklist
Communication to director regarding issues, concerns, supplies or needs within the classroom
Appropriate communication to other staff members, children, parents, etc
Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions
Responsible for attendance records, sign-in/sign-out, accident reports and other required record keeping
Qualifications:
At least 18 years of age
Bachelor's degree or higher in ECE or child development or related field
Valid CDA with 480 hours of experience
Valid TB test
High school graduate with a combination of 12 semester hours in ECE or child development, or a child related field and 960 hours of experience
Must be responsible, dependable, enthusiastic, and able to communicate effectively
Adult, Child, and Infant CPR/AED and First Aid- preferred
Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology
Successful clearance of FBI background checks, and iCHAT (State Police)
