Our Environmental Team is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to work out of our Traverse City, MI office.

• Support a variety of tasks with the goal to develop technical, social and ethical skills.
• Conduct ground water and other field sampling events in various site settings. Attention to detail and ability to multi‑task is important.
• Position is 90% field and 10% office work and requires overnight travel within the State of Michigan. Overtime required, as needed.
• Must be able to work independent of others and as part of a team environment.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

• High School Diploma.
• Demonstrated interest in the geosciences and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others and ability to express ideas effectively and professionally.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
• 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training in accordance with 29
  
  CFR 1910.20 is desired, but will train, if necessary.
• Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight‑fitting respirator / Fit for Duty Exam / Medical Exam.
• Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds.
