Manufacturing Engineer | Traverse City, MI
Salary Range: $75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Traverse City region seeking Manufacturing Engineers. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates-not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and implement new production methods, equipment, and tooling.
- Conduct root cause analysis of manufacturing defects and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process flows.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Provide technical support and training to production personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on process improvement and optimization.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD) for designing and analyzing manufacturing layouts and tooling.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and experience implementing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Experience with data analysis and statistical process control (SPC) to monitor and improve manufacturing performance.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, such as machining, assembly, welding, and automation.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Kaizen, 5S).
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and statistical process control (SPC).
- Experience with automation and robotics in a manufacturing setting.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM).
