Supplier Quality Engineer | Traverse City, MI

Salary Range: $78,000 - $111,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Traverse City seeking Supplier Quality Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supplier quality improvement programs.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define supplier quality requirements for new product development.
• Monitor and report on key supplier quality performance metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance product quality and reliability.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 3+ years experience in quality engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
• Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA).
• Experience conducting supplier audits and driving corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or other relevant ASQ certifications
• Experience with advanced quality tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, or similar methodologies
• Familiarity with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) or APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) processes
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
• Experience with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, casting, injection molding)
