The Engineering Designer prepares engineering designs and detailed drawings for products and/or customer specific product applications. Responsibilities include designing and detailing engineering drawings for Cone Drive's precision gearing products, assemblies, and components. Ensuring accuracy of work and adhering to project due dates as communicated by the design staff leader or project manager. Interpreting design requirements obtained from customer drawings, design input documentation, and input from Product Development Engineers, Application Engineers, and Sales Representatives.

Reviewing designs for compliance with customer requirements, manufacturability and ease of assembly. Adhering to approved design standards, change management (ECN) procedures, and drawing release processes. Working with Application Engineers and/or Product Development Engineers to ensure that designs meet functional, quality and cost targets. Participating in design and project reviews as required. Working with sales, purchasing, and manufacturing to optimize designs for meeting customer requirements.

Ensuring completed bills of material comply to customer requirements.

Requirements include an associate's degree in product design or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD Design;
Solid Edge (preferred) or Solid Works. Familiar with Microsoft Office Products including MS Excel, MS Word & MS PowerPoint. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Preferred:
One year design experience. This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data ("CTD") and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR). Eligible candidates are; US Citizens, Green Card holders, Asylees or others eligible to receive US export license authorizations. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
