Job Description

A Day in the Life

Works as a team member to accomplish goals of the Munson Healthcare Radiology Department, as well as organizational goals. Responsibilities include accurate charge capture practices, compliance to the guidelines published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), investigation and resolution of account discrepancies, updating Radiology staff regarding billing and coding changes, analysis of the impact to the department, and submission of data to regulatory agencies.

Works directly with the Radiology Information Systems Analyst and has a strong working relationship with multi‑disciplinary teams to ensure effective implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the Radiology charging process in a way that promotes and supports MHC’s values.

  • Oversees radiology charging practices and maintains charge masters to ensure accurate billing and compliance.
  • Reviews, investigates, and resolves billing discrepancies, coding issues, rejections, and system errors, providing education as needed.
  • Serves as the primary contact for audits, compliance initiatives, and implementation of new radiology procedures and charging guidelines.
  • Monitors reimbursement regulations and publications, analyzes impacts, and implements necessary process or policy changes.
  • Collaborates with internal teams, radiologists, patient accounts, and patients to address billing questions, authorizations, documentation, and registration issues.
Qualifications

What’s Required

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s degree in a related Health Care field required. A minimum of two years of experience in Radiology, analytical and/or financial healthcare experience is required.
  • Accreditation by AHIMA: CCS, RHIT or RHIA or enrolled in an AHIMA program to qualify for accreditation. Accreditation must be obtained within two years of hire.
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS is required.
Additional Information

Physical Demands: The role involves mostly seated work with some standing and walking, frequent fine motor use of both hands, occasional overhead reaching, and intermittent physical tasks such as bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and climbing. It is primarily an indoor, fast‑paced office environment with frequent interaction and clear communication required with staff and the public, occasional phone/radio use, and some travel as needed.

Schedule: 8‑4pm, Hybrid position.
