Economic Stability Director - Traverse City Job Summary

The Economic Stability Director provides leadership and oversight for the Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency's Economic Stability Department, ensuring the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs that promote community growth and reduce poverty. This role includes managing budgets, compliance with state and federal regulations, supervising staff, and representing the agency in local, statewide, and national initiatives to strengthen communities and support economic stability for all individuals.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, develop, and evaluate resources and programs in response to community needs.
  • Report on programmatic and special projects associated with the Economic Stability operations.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Economic Stability management and support staff, delegating supervision to managers as needed.
  • Develop, implement, manage grants and contracts as necessary for the department and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with agency policies, including, but not limited to:
    Personnel, Financial Policies & Procedures, and Strategic Development.
  • Engage in a process of continual quality improvement that aligns with the Results Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA) Cycle.
  • As appropriate, participate and take leadership in local, statewide and /or national boards, commissions, collaborations, and initiatives to further the Community Action mission to reduce or eliminate poverty.
  • Manage assigned budgets and maintain financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal programmatic requirements.
  • Manage all aspects of the Economic Stability Department.
  • Mentor, train, and support staff in alignment with NMCAA Core Values.
  • Represent NMCAA in a professional, supportive, and knowledgeable manner.
  • Performs other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in human services, or related field
  • 5 years' experience in non-profit administration and management preferred.
