Machine Operator – 2nd Shift | Traverse City, MI (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour + $1.00 shift premium

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Kelly Services is seeking a skilled and motivated Material Handler to join our client’s manufacturing team in Traverse City, MI. Our client has more than 85 years of industry expertise, providing high-precision tooling and wear-resistant solutions to the aerospace, energy, and transportation sectors.

As a Machine Operator/Material Handler, you will perform essential functions within manufacturing departments, ensuring consistent product flow and supporting quality production.

• Setup and operate multiple machines (conventional or CNC) with minimal supervision, handling complex parts and setups.

• Select appropriate feeds, speeds, and tooling to ensure product quality.

• Assist with equipment troubleshooting and improving production efficiencies.

• Ensure required materials and tools are available for operations.

• Participate in Lean Enterprise, Quality, Safety, and Productivity initiatives.

• Operate multiple machines to help reduce labor costs.

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school training preferred.

• Strong blueprint reading skills.

• 3-5 years’ manufacturing experience.

• Versatile machining background and strong mechanical aptitude.

• Commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and teamwork.

• Experience with Lean manufacturing processes is a plus.

• Extensive training offered (1-week onboarding program).

• Steel toe (or composite) footwear required.

• Safety glasses required (self-provided); ear protection not needed.

• Climate-controlled facility with dust collection systems.
