Certified Nursing Assistant; CNA

Villa at Traverse Point is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join their team. The CNA helps patients and residents with comprehensive and personalized health‑care needs under the supervision of a nurse, assisting with bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, toileting and exercising.

• Under the direction of the Director of Nursing or CNA Supervisor, the CNAs work closely with nursing staff to ensure coordination of patient care.

• Provides physical support for patients’ daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring to/from bed, toileting, walking, standing, or exercising.

• Turns and repositions bedridden patients.

• Ensures proper resident/patient diet based on dietary restrictions.

• Measures and records food and liquid intake.

• Examines patients for open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine.

• Notes and communicates patient/resident behavior and changes in mood.

• Gathers medical supplies.

• Cleans rooms and bed linens.

• Checks and records vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

• Answers to patient calls and needs.

• May aid patients being transported to and from appointments.

• All other duties, as assigned.

• Good collaboration and teamwork skills with nursing staff.

• Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions.

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

• Meets all health requirements as required by law.

• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff.

• Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability to learn company applications.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• State Certified Nursing Assistant License/Certification.

• Current CPR certificate or become certified within 90 days of employment (preferred; some facilities may require this).

• Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures; all with or without mechanical aids as required.

• Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.

• Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of at least 5 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.

• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
