Villa at Traverse Point is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join their team. The CNA helps patients and residents with comprehensive and personalized health‑care needs under the supervision of a nurse, assisting with bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, toileting and exercising.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Director of Nursing or CNA Supervisor, the CNAs work closely with nursing staff to ensure coordination of patient care.
Provides physical support for patients’ daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring to/from bed, toileting, walking, standing, or exercising.
Turns and repositions bedridden patients.
Ensures proper resident/patient diet based on dietary restrictions.
Measures and records food and liquid intake.
Examines patients for open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine.
Notes and communicates patient/resident behavior and changes in mood.
Gathers medical supplies.
Cleans rooms and bed linens.
Checks and records vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Answers to patient calls and needs.
May aid patients being transported to and from appointments.
All other duties, as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
Good collaboration and teamwork skills with nursing staff.
Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Meets all health requirements as required by law.
Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff.
Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability to learn company applications.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED.
State Certified Nursing Assistant License/Certification.
Current CPR certificate or become certified within 90 days of employment (preferred; some facilities may require this).
Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures; all with or without mechanical aids as required.
Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of at least 5 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
