The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care in the obstetric setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during labor, delivery, and examinations
- Provide immediate postpartum care and stabilize mother and newborn
- Educate on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and team members
- Respond to obstetric emergencies (preeclampsia, hemorrhage, fetal distress) using evidence‑based protocols
- Document patient care accurately in the medical record
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
- Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
- Comply with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and laws
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of labor and delivery nursing
- Minimum one year recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association/ARC)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
- STABLE and ACLS certifications (AHA/ARC)
- Other certifications and licenses may be required
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
- English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)
- Computer literacy
- Physical ability to stand, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push/pull, bend, and remain stationary as needed
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel and maintain a positive attitude
- Technical/motor skills for assisting with procedures and equipment use
- Mental resilience to cope with frequent public contact, deadlines, and irregular activity schedules
- Good visual acuity and effective communication

Job . Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
