Position OverviewIf you are a skilled craftsman who takes pride in seamless drywall work but are tired of the constant hassle of chasing leads, writing unpaid estimates, and managing administrative tasks, this role is designed for you. We are looking for a drywall-focused craftsman to join our team in Traverse City. In this role, you will have the independence to do what you do best—high-quality, hands-on work—backed by a supportive, professional office team that handles the scheduling, billing, and customer coordination.
This is a full-time, W-2 position offering consistent, year-round work and a healthy work-life balance. You will work directly with residential and light commercial customers, helping them repair, restore, and improve their spaces.
What Success Looks LikeOn a day-to-day basis, you will travel to scheduled jobs throughout the Traverse City area. You will evaluate drywall issues—ranging from small water-damage patches and stress cracks to full-room hanging and finishing—and complete the work efficiently. A key part of your success will be your ability to match existing textures so that your repairs are virtually invisible.
Over time, success in this role means building trusted relationships with our local customers. You will represent our brand through clear communication, punctuality, and a clean workspace. While drywall is your specialty, your willingness to tackle other light home repairs when needed will make you an invaluable part of our team.
What You Need to Bring Must-HaveQualifications:
Proven professional experience in drywall repair, taping, mudding, sanding, and texture matching.
Your own standard hand and power tools suited for drywall and general home repair.
A valid driver's license and a reliable, clean vehicle capable of transporting your tools to job sites.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on respectful customer service.
The ability to pass a standard background check and drug screen.
Broad home improvement skills, such as interior painting, light carpentry, trim work, or minor tile repair.
Experience using digital tools or smartphone apps for schedule tracking and job updates.
Prior experience working directly with homeowners in a residential remodeling or service environment.
What We OfferWe believe in treating our team members like the professionals they are. When you work with us, you can expect:
A stable W-2 position with consistent weekly pay.
Independence in the field without the stress of marketing, scheduling, or billing.
A dependable Monday through Friday schedule, allowing you to enjoy your evenings and weekends.
A supportive office team that coordinates your jobs and handles material logistics.
A competitive compensation structure, with paid time off, 401K with matching, a phone stipend, and an allowance program for tools.
