Overview & Purpose

The Project Manager supports the successful execution of new construction HVAC and Plumbing projects by providing consistent field oversight, project coordination, and communication between the installation team, office, general contractors, and other trades.

This position is responsible for helping keep projects moving according to schedule, identifying potential problems, and making sure installation teams have the information, materials, equipment, and support needed to complete their work successfully.

Roles & Responsibilities Field Project Oversight
  • Regularly visit active new construction projects to monitor progress and jobsite conditions.
  • Compare actual project progress to the planned schedule.
  • Identify projects that are falling behind and communicate concerns early.
  • Verify that work is progressing according to plans, specifications, and company expectations.
  • Identify jobsite conflicts, access issues, sequencing problems, or other conditions that could affect production.
  • Take photos and provide clear updates on project status.
  • Help ensure jobsites remain organized, safe, and professional.
  • Follow up on issues until they are resolved.
Installer Support
  • Maintain regular communication with Lead Installers and installation crews.
  • Help crews obtain answers to questions regarding plans, equipment, materials, or jobsite conditions.
  • Identify obstacles that are preventing installers from being productive.
  • Help coordinate resources needed to keep crews working.
  • Communicate recurring installation issues to the Director of Installation.
  • Support Lead Installers without taking over their responsibility for the crew.
Pre-Construction / Project Kickoff Walkthroughs
  • As requested, conduct a jobsite walkthrough prior to the scheduled project kickoff.
  • As requested, participate in project kickoff meeting when appropriate and communicate known jobsite concerns to the Director of Installation/Lead Installer.
  • Review the jobsite conditions against the plans, specifications, and project scope.
  • Verify that the site is ready for HVAC installation before manpower is scheduled.
  • Identify access, staging, material storage, equipment lift, crane, and delivery requirements.
  • Review locations of equipment, ductwork, piping, controls, and other major installation components.
  • Identify potential conflicts with structural, electrical, plumbing, or other trades.
  • Verify required openings, sleeves, pads, curbs, penetrations, and other jobsite requirements are complete or scheduled.
  • Communicate outstanding issues to the Director of Installation and appropriate project contacts.
Scheduling & Production
  • Help verify that projects are ready before crews are scheduled to begin work.
  • Monitor production and communicate when additional manpower may be needed.
  • Help coordinate HVAC work with other trades and the general contractor.
  • Communicate schedule changes and potential delays to the Director of Installation.
Materials & Equipment
  • Verify required equipment and materials are available when needed.
  • Identify missing, incorrect, damaged, or delayed materials before they affect production.
  • Communicate material and equipment needs to the appropriate team members.
  • Help identify upcoming material requirements based on project progress.
  • Verify equipment and materials are being delivered to the correct jobsite.
General Contractor & Jobsite Coordination
  • Maintain professional relationships with general contractors, superintendents, and other trades.
  • Attend jobsite meetings when requested.
  • Communicate project progress and field concerns professionally.
  • Help coordinate HVAC activities with other trades.
  • Identify conflicts that could affect the HVAC installation.
  • Bring larger issues, disagreements, or commitments back to the Director of Installation.
Change Orders & Additional Work
  • Assist Leads with identifying potential change-order work or work outside the original scope.
Project Communication & Documentation
  • Provide regular field updates to the Director of Installation.
  • Document significant jobsite issues with photos and notes.
