Requirements

Position Title: Program Staff—Lacrosse Coach

Reports to: Sports Director

Department: Youth Sports

Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Sports Director this position will develop, organize, and implement a high quality program for members and participants. This role will ensure the program criteria and objectives are carried out, while also maintaining a safe, enjoyable and engaging experience to all participants.

Essential Functions
  • Directs and supervises program to meet set objectives
  • Create program curriculum that is appropriate for the physical ability of program participants
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness and the impact of the program
  • Ensures that YMCA safety standards are met and enforced
  • Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information
  • Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor
Qualifications
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Prior lacrosse coaching or playing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to relate well to the public
  • Exceptional customer service and delivery skills
  • Completion of Child Abuse Prevention and Blood Borne Pathogens trainings within 60 days of hire. Understanding of YMCA First Aid, Safety and Risk polices and procedures.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment primarily outdoors
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Employee may occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds
  • Flexible work hours as needed
