You chose social work because you believe families can grow, heal, and succeed when they have the right support.

You understand that parenting doesn't come with a manual, and that many families are navigating challenges while trying to do what's best for their children. You know that change is possible when parents feel supported rather than judged, when strengths are recognized, and when someone takes the time to walk alongside them.

You entered this field because you wanted to help families build confidence, develop skills, and create brighter futures for their children.

At Wellspring Lutheran Services, we're looking for a Parent Education Provider who believes that investing in parents is one of the most powerful ways to support children.

In this role, you'll work directly with families whose children are in out-of-home care with a goal of reunification. Through coaching, education, encouragement, and support, you'll help parents strengthen their skills, build healthy relationships, and move toward positive outcomes for their families.

This isn't simply about teaching a curriculum. It's about helping parents recognize their strengths, develop new tools, and build confidence in their ability to guide and nurture their children.

Most importantly, you'll help families create stronger foundations for the future.

What Your Impact Will Look Like

You'll build meaningful relationships with parents and caregivers while helping them navigate challenges and work toward their goals.

You'll provide education, coaching, and support that helps parents strengthen communication, develop effective parenting strategies, and build healthier family relationships.

You'll meet families where they are—both literally and figuratively—helping them identify strengths, overcome barriers, and develop practical skills that support long-term success.

You'll use the Nurturing Parenting curriculum to guide conversations and learning opportunities while tailoring your approach to each family's unique circumstances and needs.

You'll connect families with community resources and services that can provide additional support and stability.

You'll partner with families to identify safety concerns, reduce risks, and create plans that support the well-being of both children and caregivers.

Some days you'll be helping a parent develop new communication techniques. Other days you'll be discussing child development, supporting family reunification efforts, connecting families with resources, or celebrating progress that once felt out of reach.

Every day, you'll have the opportunity to help families move one step closer to the future they want for themselves and their children.

The Professional We're Looking For

  • You believe families deserve support, encouragement, and opportunities to grow.
  • You approach people with empathy, respect, and a strength-based mindset.
  • You are passionate about helping parents build confidence and develop new skills.
  • You understand that meaningful change happens through relationships and trust.
  • You are comfortable working independently while collaborating with community partners and service providers.
  • You are a strong communicator who can connect with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • You believe every family has strengths worth building upon.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human services field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working in human services preferred.
  • Willingness to complete Nurturing Parenting Program training and implement the curriculum with fidelity.
  • Knowledge of child welfare, community resources, and family-centered interventions preferred.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to strength-based, family-focused services.
